Motivations behind false allegations

The motivations for someone making false allegations of domestic abuse usually fall into 3 reasons. The sad truth is that it's females who usually make false allegations with a staggering 99.5% of the calls we receive come from men who have been falsely accused. We do however support females who have been falsely accused of domestic abuse.

This article will explore the 3 main motivations. 1) A means and way to end the relationship and have the man removed from the house (Legal abuse)  This is by far the most common reason a false allegation of domestic abuse is made. Typically it goes like this. Up to 1 year before the relationship ends the female has mentally and psychologically ended the relationship with the man. In this period the female will become distant and start to abuse her partner emotionally and psychologically to make his life uncomfortable so he leaves of his own accord. The man maybe doesn't want to leave for various reasons (i.e doesn't want to spend less time with kids, nowhere to go, tries to fix relationship). Ultimately over time the female abuser snaps and makes a false allegation to the police, social services with one aim. To get the man out of the house and end the relationship. What usually follows is a non molestation order and the man is left in dire straits. We can help you if you find yourself in this position.  2) Revenge, This is the second most common motivation. The female may have been hurt by the male i.e. he cheated or it could be in reverse and the female cheated and the male found out and as an act of revenge and deflection she makes a false allegation of domestic abuse. Also it's common to receive a false allegation if the man enters a new relationship and the female is vengeful that the male has moved on.  3) Encouraged by others This is the third motivation. The break up could have been amicable but the female after speaking to a legal professional or women's group may have been advised to make allegations of domestic abuse so they can get an advantage in family court or receive free legal aid. It could even be as simple as them being encouraged by people around them who may have something against you and decide to use the ex to get at you.

There really is no limit to the motivation of a woman when it comes to making false allegations.
