Zen Jordan Taylor was born on 7th July 2019 weighing just 2.4 kilos with a complex congenital heart defect. He had 8 open heart surgeries including 7 in the final 7 days of his short 27 day life span and passed away on the 3rd August 2019 in his mother and father's arms.

The main thing I have found out since losing a child is that fathers are forgotten in the grieving process and as Zen’s father I have been left alone to my own devices.
If it wasn’t for charities like Sands, the stillbirth & neonatal death charity and health assured who have guided me of late with counselling, I have no idea where I would be during the hardest time of my life and whilst also being trolled online by Zen's own mother and her flying monkeys.
Zen was a beautiful boy who only ever got to be held by his parents and doctors and nurses, but everyone who came into contact with him was so taken by his strength and will to survive. But unfortunately his tiny heart was unable to power his little body despite the amazing efforts of the surgeons at the Bristol royal hospital for children.
His uniqueness matched his dad and I’ve always put morales and respect before friendship, but I’ve always been there when people needed me.
But very few of my friends have been there when I needed them through such a hard time.
Dads matter too 🌈🌟
This is just the beginning - '27 days forever'
